Key Largo Dive Center NAUI Courses
NAUI scuba courses offered by Key Largo Dive Center are conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the National Association of Underwater Instructors. Key Largo has perfect conditions for scuba training: warm water, shallow coral reefs, deep wrecks, and abundant marine life. NAUI courses incorporate more modern features such as E-Learning which provides an in-depth approach to learning NAUI courses require pre-registration with KLDC. Our courses are not taught by interns. All of our NAUI Instructors and Divemasters are fully certified as such.

Scuba Diver is the NAUI entry-level scuba certification course. It provides the fundamental knowledge and skills to scuba dive. NAUI Scuba Diver is the first certification level and is is the NAUI equivalent to the PADI Open Water Diver Certification. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training. Your initial scuba certification course is the foundation upon which your entire dive career is based. It is important that this training be professional, thorough, and provide a variety of situational training experiences. The course goes beyond the bare bones minimum required training. Our course includes three days of training and includes classroom sessions, E-Learning, NAUI course materials, one confined water session, and four open water dives with an instructor. Plan on scheduling 4 days with us to insure a backup day in case of a delay. Reservation deposit $300. Scuba Diver candidates are expected to have their own suitable dive mask, fins, snorkel, regulator and BCD. KLDC offers special student discounts on dive gear packages. NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) Qualification. $300. Fee includes academic materials, E-Learning, and instructor session.
This course is to provide the diver with the information necessary to utilize EANx as a breathing medium. The course is taught as a stand-alone specialty course to certified divers or the knowledge and skills training may be integrated into other NAUI certification courses including the NAUI Scuba Diver course. The course is taught as a NAUI recognition program and the students registered as EANx qualified. Course fee includes two open water dives in order to complete the NAUI EANx qualification. Instructor seminar session to review cylinder air mix analysis using oxygen analyzer. Academic materials include: NAUI Nitrox Diver textbook, Nitrox 32 and 36 dive tables, Nitrox course deluxe logbook pages, and a NAUI Nitrox Diver decal. Also includes access code for eLearning.
NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Qualification Course Schedule: Available on demand. May be taken simultaneously with any other NAUI course. Classroom duration 2 hours provided all academic materials are completed prior to attendance.

The NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver Certification continues where your Scuba Diver training left off. Advanced skills and new techniques are introduced to make you an even better diver. The course includes three days of training including classroom sessions and six open water dives including deep dive, navigation dive, night dive, wreck dive, search and recovery, underwater photo and video. Please plan a backup fourth day here in case of delays due to weather, etc. Reservation deposit $300.
Prerequisite for Advanced Scuba Diver Course: PADI Scuba Diver or NAUI Open Water Diver or equivalent. Minimum is 15 years. (Junior certification for ages 10-14 years).

Required Course Equipment: In addition to your primary dive gear: Dive lights (primary and backup), Primary Dive Reel (such as Dive Rite RE4300 or equivalent), safety sausage, dive knife and/or dive safety shears, dive computer, wreck dive cards (available at shop for specific wreck). A detailed information sheet will be provided once your reservation is received. We expect all Advanced Scuba Diver candidates to own and train with their personally owned dive gear. KLDC Advanced Dive Equipment Packages are available at a discounted price for students.
NAUI Rescue Diver Course – $699 The NAUI Rescue Rescue Diver Course trains divers in the knowledge and skills needed to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies. Included are: assists, transports, surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat and shore-based skin and scuba divers. The course includes classroom training, 2 confined water training sessions, two open water training dives. This course is four days long, plan on a fifth backup date in case of weather delays, etc. Course Deposit $350.

NAUI Master Diver Training $1500 tuition
This course is a continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. This course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles.
Prerequisite: 15 years of age minimum. Certification as a Naui Advanced Scuba Diver or equivalent.
Course includes: 8 open water dives, classroom sessions, eLearning, on-site discussions, and briefings and debriefings. The course is five days long, please plan on a sixth day as a bad weather day. Deposit $400. Tuition, boat, and pool fees $1500. Academic materials: $260.

The NAUI FIT (Familiarization-Instruction-Testing) training program is a prerequisite for advancement to the NAUI Professional Level training courses including Divemaster and Instructor. The FIT program includes online, classroom, and in-water training to prepare the diver who intends to become a NAUI professional level diver. The FIT Course is 3 days long and requires that you complete the online training prior to attending. Once you enroll with us we will send you the FIT packet containing the materials that you need during the course.

The NAUI Divemaster Training Course is professional level training which prepares the successful graduate for employment as a paid NAUI Divemaster. The course is 7 days long and involves both classroom academics, confined water training, and open water training. NAUI Instructor Training Course (ITC)
The NAUI Instructor Training Course prepares successful Divemaster Course graduates to continue in their training to become professional NAUI Instructors. The NAUI Instructor Training Course is a week long and is comprised of several parts:
Instructor Training Program (ITP): This is the classroom and in-water training required to become a NAUI Instructor. It includes both confined and open water training. This course is conducted by our own staff Instructor Trainer. The price for this phase of training is $1800 plus NAUI course materials. Call for materials fee and to enroll.
Instructor Qualification Program (IQP): This is the final evaluation to become an approved certified NAUI Instructor. It is conducted by a designated NAUI Course Director who will evaluate the successful ITP graduate. The fee for the IQP is $500.
